Birthday party

Howdy, friends.

This is just a quick photo dump from Jack’s 3rd Birthday Party. His actual birthday is tomorrow. We invited some friends and family over this past weekend, and it was wonderful. We have a huge driveway, and we asked his little friends to bring their vehicles to play with — so we had a driveway full of scooters, tractors, big wheels, tricycles and more. It was a huge hit — no fighting and lots of laughs.

Jack was a good boy. I can’t believe he will be 3 tomorrow. It’s crazy. At this time 3 years ago, Philip and I were enjoying a Sunday before Labor Day home, while I was on bedrest. We played Connect Four (?) and watched a bunch of movies and TV, while I laid on the couch. We had no idea the joy we were in for the next day.

Here are some scenes from the party.

Jack pulls a tractor.

We ordered a cake from the grocery store with trucks on it. Jack LOVED it. And I am trying to not feel guilty for not making his cake.

Happy Birthday, buddy!

Family and friends.

Genevieve spent the entire day in the Cozy Coupe.

Jack has been asking for pink shoes, so my friend bought him pink Converse. He was in heaven. He makes pink tennis shoes look good.

Mr. Cool

So manly with his truck, and his pink shoes.

We had a great party with great friends. I can’t believe how fast the past three years have gone.

Happy running.

A: kudos to you for allowing the pink shoes. I was reading a blog the other day where a mom wouldn’t buy their son what he wanted for school: a pink backpack. Let the kid be himself!

B: my pregnancy eyes are lusting after Jake’s truck cake. Mmmmm frosting!
