I run and read obsessively. I can eat an entire pan of Rice Krispie treats in one sitting. I have two pretty cute kids, a wonderful husband and a very mellow dog.

Running year in review
Howdy, friends. I’m pretty sure I won’t get a chance to run today, so I’m going to post my year-end stats this morning, knowing they could go up by a measly 5 miles before the day is done. Total mileage … Continue reading

Taper madness, and some numbers
Howdy, friends. I did my last little run today before Twin Cities — just a boring, easy 4 miles. In the wind. Ugh, I think we skipped fall here in South Dakota and went straight to winter. it’s an hour … Continue reading

Howdy, friends. I figured that headline would grab you. Who doesn’t love mocking others? Oh wait, nice people, that’s who. So, when I ran Brookings a few weeks ago, I decided to wear one of my running skirts. I have … Continue reading

Currently reading … and a haunting 1:49
Howdy, friends. I just finally finished “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and good grief, what took me so long? I loved it. I have the second one already, but first I have to get through “Cleopatra,” by Stacy Schiff, … Continue reading

Jack and Viv, in photos
Howdy, friends. Just two photos that the kids’ Nana sent, from her weekend of babysitting them while we ran the marathon. Notice the time stamp on these photos — the kids got up at like 5:30 a.m. every day … Continue reading

Twin Cities Marathon race report
Howdy, friends. On Sunday, I ran the Twin Cities Marathon. This was my seventh marathon, and third Twin Cities. Philip is from the cities, and my in-laws still live there, so it’s a great race for us — free babysitting, … Continue reading
